Highgroove Award - The Trophy Holder

Charles is the current recipient of the Highgroove Award! In 2011 Charles hired twelve new Highgroove employees, doing his part to stimulate the tech economy in his childhood hometown of Atlanta, Georgia. With his guidance, Highgroove is on track to meet its quarterly goals for all of 2011. Charles was fearless in his implementation of the ground-breaking ROWE management strategy -- which not only allows us to operate at peak productivity, but also puts a smile on our faces when we describe our vacation policy. And when he's not ROWEing, Charles is mentoring us in Agile development, allowing us to deliver software which works -- on time and on budget. You'll often find Charles at one of our desks, giving wisdom about a tricky technical problem, or guidance in communication with customers. Charles is the fearless leader of Highgroove - he's started the company we all imagined - and he brings us along for an exciting ride every day. What is this Award?

Charles Brian Quinn is the face of Highgroove's Consulting and Training for over 5 years. He is a former road-warrior consultant to Fortune 500 companies and government agencies around the world, with real-world knowledge and experience in building web applications and launching products. He has worked with organizations such as Deloitte & Touche, Accenture, Wells Fargo, The New York Times, the Municipality of Durban in South Africa, and startups of all sizes.

He is also the lead instructor of the Ruby on Rails Bootcamp class at the Big Nerd Ranch, a premiere technology training facility, and a contributing author to The Rails Way.

Charles is a bit of a food snob, and his latest kick is pouring latte art in Barista throw-downs and espresso cupping. He enjoys racing two-wheeled vehicles in the mud and on the track. He graduated with High Honor from Georgia Tech with a B.S. in Computer Science, and now serves on the Board of the GT Computing Alumni Organization.
