Jonathan found Ruby and Ruby on Rails while working as a jack-of-all-trades Developer and SysAdmin for restaurants, packaging and manufacturing companies. He brings experience in light-weight process, and has a strong distaste for overtly complicated systems.
Jonathan graduated from the University of Georgia, with a Bachelor's in Computer Science. His course work and research took him from multi-threaded C socket level programming, to developing Artificial Intelligence algorithms in C++, to building and modeling a 3D Virtual Reality interactive environment using Java. Jonathan is enjoying living in the Ruby on Rails land of dynamic, functional, convention-over-configuration, DRY (Don't Repeat Yourself) Ruby.
Jonathan is an avid soccer coach and player, is actually really good at dancing (Swing, Foxtrot, Waltz, and the Lawnmower), and competes in Triathlons in his spare time. His gardening abilities this year provided way too many vegetables than the Highgroove office could eat. In less than 8 years from now, you will find Jonathan on the deck of a yacht, developing software in between island jaunts and Mai Tais.
